I am a clinical social worker who is down to earth, interactive, and aware of how difficult it is to seek out therapy. Over the past 30 years, I have had a wide range of experience, working in some form of social work or psychology. Since obtaining my Masters in Social Work in 1991, I have worked primarily in clinical settings providing outpatient psychotherapy seeing children, teenagers, and adults. Areas of specialty have been depression, anxiety, bipolar (manic depression), marital, grief, and loss. With an interest in meditation and psychology, I integrate mindfulness into the therapy practice.
Training includes EMDR, Parts Work, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and the Safe and Sound Protocol. Utilizing the research and understanding of the brain and the nervous system, these modalities support a gentle approach to unwinding trauma. Â I began my training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy in 2013 which utilizes mindfulness to help in the treatment of trauma (level 1) and attachment wounding and attachment trauma (level 2) and Certification training (level 3). In working together we can help bring understanding and transformation to your experience. As a Certified Sensorimotor practitioner and an SPI Consultant and coach, I can provide individual and group consultation and experiential sessions to students and alumni of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.
